The WTO's 13th Ministerial Conference (MC13) took place from 26 February to March 1, 2024 in Abu Dhabi. The stakes were high with many important issues on the agenda: Dispute settlement reform, fisheries subsidies, agriculture negotiations, investment facilitation, and extending the moratorium on customs duties on electronic transmissions. Webinar: Ten “Quick Wins” for More Equitable Trade
The clock is ticking for the World Trade Organization’s 12th Ministerial Conference, where members will tackle a wide range of trade issues. Among them is trade and gender, where WTO members are aiming for a ministerial declaration that lays out a clear set of concrete actions members can take to improve women’s participation in world trade. The Informal Working Group on Trade and Gender has been engaging in discussions over the last year to this end. But what would a successful outcome on this issue at MC12 look like?

The European Union unveiled its proposal for a carbon border adjustment mechanism (CBAM) in July, and national policy debates have picked up speed in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
