Tlotlo Nkile

Tlotlo Nkile is currently employed as an Economist in the Monetary Policy and Forecasting Division of the Research and Financial Stability Department at the Bank of Botswana, a position she has held for nine years. She is well versed in macroeconomic policy with extensive experience in monitoring domestic and foreign economic developments, analysing economic fundamentals, and assessing their impact on the Bank’s monetary policy formulation and implementation. Her role also involves making recommendations to executive management on plausible actions to align policies with international best practice.

Ms Nkile also has extensive experience in stakeholder engagement working with clients from public and private sector, as well as regional and international development partners and agencies such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank. She is currently an Assistant Coordinator for the country’s IMF Article IV Mission.

Ms Nkile holds a Masters degree in Economics from the University of Cape Town and is a Fellow of the 2022 Young African Trade Experettes Fellowship.
