Şeymanur Yönt
Şeymanur Yönt is a Researcher at the TRT World Research Centre. She earned her Bachelor of Laws from Istanbul University and pursued a Master of Laws with a specialization in Public International Law at the London School of Economics and Political Science. She has practiced as a lawyer for two years and worked as a publications and research intern at the American Society of International Law. Her research focuses on public international law, international trade and investment law, particularly in the realm of sanctions, alongside an interest in technology's intersection with these fields.

On January 24 2024, the EU announced its strategy on outbound investments with the objective of establishing a comprehensive outbound screening policy. Although the policy outcome will not be known until 2025 at the earliest, the EU is likely to introduce an initiative resembling the US outbound investment screening regime. But the EU is not the US. Introducing such a regime will be a challenge for the EU.
