Amalie G. Thystrup

Within trade law and policy and with a particular interest in policymaking, negotiations, and governance, Amalie Giødesen Thystrup is an expert on trade in services, e-commerce, trade and gender, and FDI screening. Her sector-specific focus includes renewable energy and transportation.

Amalie holds a PhD in law from the University of Copenhagen and master’s degrees from both Denmark and the US - she is admitted to the bar in New York. During her academic tenure Amalie was affiliated with, i.a, the Graduate Institute, Geneva (Centre for Trade and Economic Integration) and Columbia University, NYC (Columbia Centre on Sustainable Investment). She was also a Visiting Scholar with the WTO Secretariat and a stagiaire with the Permanent Mission of the EU to the WTO/European External Action Service.

Amalie enjoys the lively discussions with fellow experts from across the world and across disciplines that the network facilitates, and she is namely active in organizing TE tutorials and convening panels for the webinar-series TE Confidentials.
