Call for Submissions: TradeExperettes COVID-19 Blog Post Series
We are the TradeExperettes. We are women professionals in international trade - economists, academics, lawyers and public policy experts that strive to build a global interactive platform for trade policy discussions and to share outstanding ideas.
The TradeExperettes are located in countries around the world, all of which have been hit by COVID-19 to varying degrees. Given our multidisciplinary and diverse network, we are well placed to contribute to the discourse on the trade-related aspects of the current crisis, and to find pragmatic solutions and possible areas for cooperation.
The editors of the TradeExperettes blog are requesting submissions to contribute to a special series of blog posts dedicated to the current crisis. Topics can include, but are not limited to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on:
Global value chains
Import/export restrictions
Consumer behavior
Infrastructure requirements
International institutions (WTO, FTAs, BITs, etc.)
International/regional cooperation
Particular challenges for developing countries
Food trade and food security
Regional/country specific impacts
Patents/licensing with regard to vaccine development
Regulatory barriers to trade (ie. PPE, ventilators, medicines)
Blog posts should aim to be anywhere from 800-1500 words, include hyperlinks for in-text citations, and accessible to a broader audience (please limit jargon).
We are accepting submissions on a rolling basis. Please send your posts and any questions to editors@tradeexperettes.org.
We look forward to sharing your expertise with our broader network!
Stay safe and healthy,
TradeExperettes Blog Editors
