Jane Drake-Brockman

Jane Drake-Brockman is Australia’s foremost industry expert on services competitiveness and trade in services. She has a long career in international economics and depth of experience across business, government, international organisations, academia and technical assistance projects, most recently for APEC, ERIA, ASEAN, ADB, World Bank, WEF, OECD and UN ESCAP.

She has served on the staff of the International Trade Centre (Geneva), OECD Trade Directorate (Paris) and Commonwealth Secretariat (London). She has diplomatic and trade negotiating experience with the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, serving as Chief Economist, Services Trade & IP Branch Head, Middle East & Africa Branch Head and Minister at the Australian Delegation to the EU. She studied Economics at the Australian National University and started her career as the first female cadet with the Australian Treasury.  Jane taught Macroeconomics for Business Executives at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Trade in Services at the University of Adelaide. Her current research focus is digital trade.

Jane is Founder of the Australian Services Roundtable, co-convenor of the Global Services Coalition and Asia Pacific Services Coalition and a member of the G20-Trade & Investment Research Network (TIRN).
